The Role

Reports to: VP, Biometric Operations
Location: WeWork Waterloo, London - Hybrid (At least once per week)
Comp: £90,000 to £100,000 (Base) + Company Performance Bonus (10%) + Share Options + UK iProov Benefits

The Biometric Systems Lead owns how iProov's biometric platform evolves, from research and prototyping through to production. Reporting to the VP, Biometric Operations, you'll lead the Biometric Systems function; scoping and delivering new systems, improving existing ones, and making sure they hold up against the measures that matter (precision, recall, bias, speed, cost and robustness). Bias detection sits with you, alongside the feedback-code work that shapes how real people interact with the technology, and the customer-specific features that arrive as awkward problems and need turning into workable solutions.

It's a varied, cross-functional role, spanning Biometric Operations, Product, Research and CSI, with a longer-term roadmap to build and a team to mentor. We're hiring first for collaboration, communication and mentoring, technical enough to earn the team's trust, and dependable enough that you can be handed a problem and trusted to come back with a solution.

How you can make an impact

  • Work with the Biometric Operations & Product teams to identify areas to improve the Biometric Platform
  • Own the research, prototyping, and productionalization of new Biometric systems and improve upon existing functionality
  • Scoping of work items
  • Metrics for project success
  • Ensure work stays on track, and be aware of key design decisions that are being made
  • Raise key decisions, and risks to project delivery to the Head of Biometric Platform and Product
  • Ensure systems are effective, and meet expectations (Precision, recall, bias, speed & cost, robustness)
  • Work with the CSI team to ensure teams code quality
  • Lead and Guide Cross functional projects
  • Work with Research team to understand and take ownership of new technologies and methods
  • Build a roadmap for longer term strategic initiatives, meeting the current and future biometric needs of our customers
  • Mentor and support the Biometric Systems team
  • Delegate effectively, ensuring the team is motivated and understands the tasks assigned to them
  • Ensure the team have the time and resources to be able to do their work efficiently and to a high standard
  • Support the team in their career and learning goals

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
