Role Overview
We're looking for an accomplished Lead Consultant to join our growing Professional Services team, helping some of the UK's leading organisations use GIS and Esri technology to solve complex challenges and achieve meaningful business outcomes.
As a Lead Consultant, you'll combine technical expertise, consulting judgement, and customer leadership. You'll work closely with customers and Sales colleagues to understand business objectives, identify opportunities, and shape propositions that connect Esri UK's capabilities to customer needs.
Alongside your customer-facing responsibilities, you'll provide senior technical leadership across projects, helping teams make sound decisions and delivering high-quality solutions. You'll also play an important role in coaching and mentoring other consultants.
This is an opportunity for an experienced consultant who is ready to take greater ownership of customer relationships, influence business opportunities, and develop their leadership capability.
Responsibilities
As our Lead Consultant, you will:
- Build trusted relationships with customers and act as a trusted advisor on the use of GIS and Esri technology.
- Understand customer strategies, challenges, and priorities and identify where GIS and Esri technology can deliver meaningful value.
- Work closely with Sales colleagues to identify opportunities and shape compelling propositions.
- Provide senior technical leadership across customer projects and work packages.
- Guide solution components through design, build, test, and deployment.
- Support estimation, planning, and technical decision-making across projects.
- Bring practical delivery experience and technical credibility to customer and commercial conversations.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Solution Architects, consultants, and wider business teams.
- Provide technical and consulting input into proposals and bids.
- Coach and mentor Senior Consultants and less experienced colleagues.
- Share knowledge and contribute to the development of our Professional Services capability.
- Maintain awareness of developments across GIS, technology, and relevant customer sectors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
