Lead Consultant – CYP ADHD | Service Development & Clinical Lead
Location: Surrey / Hybrid
Working Pattern: Flexible / Consultancy
Initial Commitment: Approximately 4 hours per week
Start: Mid-October 2026
Are you a Consultant with experience in CYP ADHD looking for an opportunity to help shape a new service from the outset?
Compass Associates are working with a growing healthcare organisation that is developing a new Children & Young People (CYP) ADHD pathway.
We are looking for a Lead CYP ADHD Consultant to play a key role in the design and development of the service ahead of launch, before transitioning into ongoing clinical and MDT delivery as the pathway becomes established.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant who enjoys service development, innovation and clinical leadership and would like the opportunity to influence how a new ADHD pathway is designed and delivered.
The Opportunity
During the initial design and mobilisation phase, you will work closely with the organisation's senior clinical, mobilisation and innovation teams to help develop and finalise the CYP ADHD pathway.
You will provide clinical input into how the service operates, helping ensure that the pathway is clinically robust, practical and patient focused.
The initial commitment is expected to be approximately 4 hours per week, with significant flexibility around how those hours are structured. This may include shorter meetings and pieces of project work spread throughout the week rather than one fixed four-hour block.

As the service launches and activity increases, the role will evolve from pathway development into ongoing clinical delivery and MDT involvement, with the level of commitment reviewed as the service grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for the developing CYP ADHD service
- Support the design and development of the CYP ADHD pathway
- Work collaboratively with senior clinical, mobilisation and innovation colleagues
- Provide expert clinical input during the mobilisation phase
- Help establish clinically appropriate processes and ways of working
- Contribute to the development of the MDT model
- Support high standards of clinical governance and patient care
- Transition into ongoing clinical and MDT delivery following service launch
- Contribute to the continued development of the service as patient volumes grow
About You
We are looking to speak with Consultants who:
- Have significant clinical experience within CYP ADHD
- Have experience assessing, diagnosing and managing ADHD in children and young people
- Are confident working within multidisciplinary environments
- Have an interest in clinical leadership and service development
- Are collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working within a developing service
- Can bring ideas and clinical insight to the development of a new pathway
- Are comfortable working closely with operational and clinical leadership teams
- Previous experience developing, mobilising or improving an ADHD or neurodevelopmental pathway would be particularly advantageous.

Working Pattern
The organisation understands that Consultants are likely to have existing NHS, private practice or other clinical commitments.
For this reason, the initial commitment will be highly flexible, with approximately four hours per week during the design phase.
Some initial in-person engagement would be preferred while you establish relationships with the wider team, moving towards a more hybrid and flexible working model as the service develops.
