Job Title: Lead Content Licensing Specialist
Company Overview
Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely. We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
Summary
The Lead Content Licensing Specialist owns and grows Clio's portfolio of third-party content licensing partners. This spans publishers, courts, government bodies, and data partners across the US and international markets. The content these partners supply feeds directly into Clio's primary content infrastructure and Vincent AI.
This role runs on two tracks at once. First, it manages the health of Clio's existing partner portfolio: renewals, compliance, and the relationships behind each agreement. Second, it finds and closes new licensing deals that fill gaps in Clio's content coverage by practice area or jurisdiction.
This role sits at the point where legal content, contract terms, and commercial relationships meet. It needs someone who can read a licensing agreement closely, negotiate its terms, and still hold a long-term relationship with the partner on the other side of the table.
What You'll Do
Publisher & Partner Relationship Management
- Act as the main point of contact for a large global portfolio of content publishers and licensing partners.
- Build long-term relationships with institutions, courts, government bodies, and commercial publishers. Act as a trusted account owner, not just a contract administrator.
- Track agreement terms, renewal timelines, and compliance obligations across the full portfolio.
- Spot and fix issues early, before they put content supply or partner relationships at risk.
Agreement Renewal & Compliance
- Own the renewal cycle for licensing agreements across US and international markets, and protect continuity of content supply through each renewal.
- Monitor each partner's compliance obligations, and flag risk before it becomes a gap in coverage.
Business Development & Content Gap Filling
- Find and pursue new licensing deals that close practice-area or jurisdictional gaps in Clio's content library.
- Run initial outreach and scoping on new partnerships, and hand off strategic or high-value deals to commercial or senior leadership at the right point.
- Work with Content and Product teams to rank licensing targets against the platform roadmap and content strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
