🚨 We're Hiring: Lead Control Systems Engineer (Substation Control Systems) 🚨
Join Capula, part of the Dalkia Group, and play a leading role in delivering the next generation of digitalised power infrastructure across the UK's transmission and distribution networks. With decades of expertise in operational technology, automation and system integration, Capula delivers innovative solutions across the energy, water, renewables and manufacturing sectors. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership on complex IEC 61850-based Substation Control Systems projects.
What you'll be doing: ✅ Leading the end-to-end technical delivery of Substation Control Systems projects ✅ Developing robust architectures and detailed designs based on IEC 61850 standards ✅ Leading the configuration and integration of COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA ✅ Managing technical interfaces across protection, control, electrical, cybersecurity and network disciplines ✅ Driving testing, FAT, commissioning support and customer acceptance activities ✅ Mentoring and developing engineers while promoting engineering excellence and best practice

We're looking for engineers with: 🔹 Strong experience delivering complex Control Systems or Operational Technology projects 🔹 Proven technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams 🔹 Knowledge of engineering lifecycle management, configuration control and cybersecurity principles 🔹 Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer-facing skills 🔹 Willingness to travel to customer and substation sites when required
Desirable experience includes: ⚡ IEC 61850 engineering (GOOSE, MMS, SCL, time synchronisation) ⚡ COPA-DATA Zenon SCADA configuration and deployment ⚡ Protection IEDs, BCUs, RTUs and gateway integration ⚡ Industrial networking, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3 and resilient network architectures ⚡ Knowledge of IEC 62443 and OT cybersecurity principles
