Mr Who?

MrQ - we're an awesome, award-winning online casino launched in 2018. We're big on tech, big on performance, and most of all - big on fun. Over the years, we have experienced explosive growth - which means we need more rock stars to join our quest for total world domination.

Our creative team is small, fast, and good. To stay ahead of brands with far bigger budgets, we don't need to get bigger, we need to get sharper. That means treating generative AI as a genuine craft multiplier, run by someone who knows how to wield it and how to teach it.

This role sits at the exact point where craft meets capability. You'll make work that defines what an AI-native creative team can do, and you'll build the tooling and workflows that let everyone around you do more of it, faster, without ever dropping below the standard the brand demands.

Two jobs, one person. Roughly a 50/50 split, though some weeks will lean hard one way. Both matter equally, and your success will be measured against both sides of this very exciting coin!

What You Will Do

The making half (where you're a hands-on creative)

  • Take briefs from concept to delivery alongside the rest of the team, static and motion design, video, campaign assets, sponsorship activations, merch, with AI running through the pipeline as a native part of how the work gets made, not a shortcut tacked on at the end.
  • Prototype the new stuff. You're the one experimenting with the latest image and video models, control techniques, and pipelines, then turning the best of them into work a player will actually see.
  • Hold the quality line. AI-assisted never means off-brand or off-craft. Everything still has to look, move, and sound unmistakably like MrQ, and be good enough to stand next to the best work in the category, full stop.
  • Solve the problems nobody's solved yet, brand-consistent characters across a whole campaign, a look that can't be produced any other way, a turnaround that shouldn't be possible.

The multiplying half (where you’re levelling up the team around you)

  • Build, document, and maintain the tools, templates, and pipelines the team uses every day: image and video generation, model fine-tuning, upscaling and finishing, versioning, and automation that connects our existing tools together.
  • Train models on our own brand assets so AI output stays on-brand by default, LoRAs, fine-tunes, and reference systems that make consistency the path of least resistance rather than a fight.
  • Teach and coach. Run hands-on sessions, pair with designers and editors, and set each discipline up with workflows that fit how they already work, so a sceptical motion designer ends up faster, not made to feel behind.
  • Scout the landscape. Track what's genuinely worth adopting and what's noise, test new models and tools, and make clear recommendations with cost, licensing, and provenance in mind. The names will change every few months; your judgement about which ones matter is the point.
  • Set the guardrails. Help define how MrQ uses AI responsibly, rights, provenance, and content credentials, brand safety, and compliance in a regulated industry, so we can move fast without getting the brand or the business into trouble.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • You've spent years actually making things, design, motion, video, or creative technology, and your portfolio proves it. It shows craft, not just tooling. Work you'd defend in a room full of people who know the difference.
  • You know the modern generative stack cold, in practice, not in theory: image models and video models are like a second language - you know their strengths, weaknesses, and when wider testing is needed. Node-based pipelines, audio tools, and LLMs are used properly across ideation and production, and you’re the reason. You've felt the sharp edges of all of it and you know where each one earns its place.
  • You're technical enough to be dangerous. You can probably script and automate a little, Python, JavaScript, APIs, node-based tools, to wire things together and take the manual grind out of a workflow. You don't need to be a software engineer. You do need to be the kind of person who builds the thing instead of waiting for someone to build it for you.
  • You've got patience and generosity. You can teach a new workflow to someone who's convinced they don't need it, and leave them glad you did. The best technique in the world is worthless if nobody else on the team will touch it.
  • You've got honest judgement. You can tell genuinely useful from merely shiny, and you'll say so out loud, even when the shiny thing is the one everyone's excited about.
  • And you've got startup instincts. Small team, fast brand. You're happy owning things end to end and shipping without a big production line behind you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a hands-on creative role; design, motion, video, or creative technology, with a portfolio that shows real craft.
  • Deep, practical fluency across modern generative AI for image, video, and audio, plus LLMs for creative and production workflows. Hands on the tools, not just opinions about them.
  • Enough technical ability to build and automate, scripting or node-based work to connect tools and remove manual grind.
  • Proven ability to make other people better. Evidence you've taught, coached, or built things a team actually adopted and kept using.
  • Genuine curiosity about casino, gaming, or entertainment. You don't need to be a player; you need to understand why people play.
  • The honesty to call out AI hype when you see it, including when it's coming from us.
