Oscha is a Scottish family business crafting high-end baby carriers, slings, and lifestyle accessories from custom-woven UK textiles. All our fabrics are woven using natural, organic, and responsibly sourced yarns, and every carrier is handcrafted in our solar-powered Scottish workshop using zero fabric waste cutting techniques.

Role Purpose
As our Lead Cutting Room Specialist, you are the backbone of our production flow. You will take full ownership of the cutting room—combining skilled manual and machine cutting with accurate digital administration. Working with our complex jacquard textiles, your meticulous attention to fabric design placement, yield optimization, roll data management, and Lean organization ensures our machining team has precisely what they need to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Precision Cutting Operations: Lead daily fabric cutting to exact specifications using electric rotary, straight, and hand-cutting tools.
- Design & Pattern Placement: Ensure precise alignment and placement of complex, intricate fabric designs across multi-directional jacquard textiles.
- Administration & Digital Data Management: Maintain precise physical cutting logs and update digital fabric data (roll lengths, GSM, batch codes) using Google Sheets and internal tracking databases.
- Inventory & Roll Handling: Monitor raw fabric roll stock, manage incoming deliveries, safely maneuver heavy fabric bolts, and log yield accurately to maintain our zero-waste standard.
- Quality Assurance & Labeling: Inspect fabrics continuously during preparation to identify weave flaws, generate accurate bundle labels, and reconcile cut counts before passing components to machining.
- Lean Workflows & Safety (Training Provided): Maintain a clean, organized, 5S-aligned cutting bay, execute cutting schedules independently, and uphold health and safety procedures.

Required Experience & Skills
- Commercial Cutting Experience: Proven experience operating electric knives and cutting machinery in a commercial manufacturing or factory setting (Essential).
- Digital & Admin Accuracy: Tech-literate and confident using spreadsheets (e.g., Google Sheets) and physical log sheets with a high level of accuracy for figures and batch data.
- Exacting Design Eye: A sharp eye for placing intricate fabric designs cleanly, managing weave orientation, and identifying fabric inconsistencies.
- Physical Capability: Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy fabric rolls and maneuvering stock (manual handling training provided).
- Proactive & Methodical: A resilient, self-motivated problem-solver who takes complete ownership of their workspace, manages time well against deadlines, and keeps physical and digital spaces tidy.
