Lead Data Architect - Public Sector
UK wide - Remote
£100,000 - £120,000
Main Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities:
As a Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for delivering modern, effective data and AI solutions across a range of clients. You’ll act as a thought leader in your domain, working closely with senior stakeholders to define principles, set strategic direction, and shape both functional and non-functional solution designs.
- Lead and mentor a team of architects and engineers, supporting them in their development and career progression.
- Advise multi-disciplinary agile teams, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business outcomes.
- Influence technology policy, define standards, contribute to account strategies, and build strong customer relationships.
- Bring insight into emerging technologies and maintain a commitment to ongoing learning and growth—both for yourself and those around you.

Minimum (Essential) Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of current and emerging data and AI technologies (e.g., IoT, edge processing, event-driven architectures, serverless computing, RDBMS, NoSQL, machine learning, cognitive services).
- Strong blue-chip consulting experience with public sector clients or public health.
- Proven accountability for designing, building, and deploying scalable, data-intensive or AI-powered systems in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings.
- Proficient in data integration approaches such as messaging systems, queuing, change data capture, or data virtualization.
- Ability to balance and prioritize non-functional requirements in solution design while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to make decisions with a clear understanding of business impact.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering inclusive, empowering, and performance-oriented team cultures.
