Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Data Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary feature team delivering data products end-to-end — from initial design through build, testing, governance and go-live — on a modern cloud data platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a purely managerial one; the successful candidate will set technical direction, coach engineers, and remain close to the code and architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and technically direct a feature team of data engineers delivering data products end-to-end.
  • Own delivery from ODP (source/data) selection through design, development, testing, validation, governance, deployment and go-live.
  • Drive engineering best practice: code quality, testing standards, CI/CD and DevOps discipline within the team.
  • Apply AI-enabled approaches to accelerate data development and testing where appropriate.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the feature team, escalating risks and dependencies early.
  • Contribute to data architecture and MDM design decisions in partnership with architecture leads.
  • Mentor and develop engineers within the team; support onboarding of new team members.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
