The Strategic Performance and Information Service

The Strategic Performance and Information Service plays a pivotal role offering the following key functions across the organisation:

  • Development and facilitation of the trust’s performance assurance frameworks and processes
  • Provision of data, performance and productivity metrics and analytical support
  • Submission of mandated statutory information to external stakeholders
  • Management of our data warehouse to extract data from various systems ensuring reporting structures meet our internal and external reporting requirements
  • Use of advanced analytical tools and techniques to transform data into insightful reports, statistics and key performance indicators

Requirements

The post holder will report to the Data Engineering Manager and work alongside other members of the data engineering team to ensure that each of our Information systems meets a range of requirements including:

  • Supports statutory, contractual and internal reporting requirements
  • Supports all management information reporting solutions
  • Supports corporate departments in their reporting and analysis
  • Supports operational teams to understand their data quality and their performance

The post holder will have an active role in taking requirements from users who may not be familiar with the technology and designing systems to meet their needs. They will need to balance having a detailed understanding of the technology with the ability to communicate in simple ways that ensures new users are engaged with the project.

The post holder will have excellent SQL skills; strong knowledge and experience in using the full Microsoft BI Stack particularly SSIS. They will also be expected to have web development skills and have the ability to manipulate complex data sets derived from information in a healthcare business context.
