Lead Data Engineer
Wealth Management Industry
London or Bristol based, 3 days in office
An exciting, newly created position to support the planned growth of a strong brand in the UK Wealth Management industry. Working directly with the CTO, an industry veteran and proven people leader, the role has full ownership of the design and execution of the firm's data platform including leading a small team of Data Engineers.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with significant senior stakeholder interaction.
The team's focus:
- Build data validation layer for wider applications
- System modernization within the current Microsoft 365 environment
- Architecture delivery and establish engineering standards
- Build time series data models
- Monitoring and observability

Required experience:
- In-depth experience of the Microsoft ecosystem including as a minimum: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Dataverse, Medallion architecture
- You'll be expected to have strong visibility on the broad tech stack to be able to help set the strategic direction of how Microsoft is used in the future
- Proven experience as a hands-on Data Engineer including deploying data pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Examples of integration Microsoft 365 with CRMs
- People management of a small team
- A genuine interest and exposure to AI-enabled data design
- Preferably industry experience within Financial Services with an understanding of consumer-focused regulatory requirements and dependencies on M&A lead target operating model strategy as it relates to technology
