About the Company

Our client, an international insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced Lead Data Enterprise Architect to join its established architecture team.

About the Role

The role will provide senior-level technology direction across enterprise data architecture, supporting stakeholders with strategies, roadmaps, standards and delivery options. The successful candidate will establish architectural foundations, lead governance and assurance activity, and provide oversight across major data and technology programmes. This is a senior strategic role requiring strong insurance domain knowledge, extensive experience delivering large-scale data programmes and the ability to influence technology policy and design across a complex organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior architectural direction for enterprise data and technology decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strategies, principles, policies and roadmaps for assigned technology domains.
  • Establish foundational enterprise architectures that support long-term business objectives.
  • Lead technology assurance and governance activity to ensure alignment with architecture policies and standards.
  • Promote the reuse of technology and architectural patterns to improve consistency and cost efficiency.
  • Establish and implement standards and guidelines for technology solutions.
  • Research emerging architecture, data and technology trends.
  • Provide architectural oversight and leadership across large-scale projects and programmes.
  • Ensure Solution Architects understand and apply the strategic direction of projects.
  • Embed effective architectural ways of working and appropriate governance processes.
  • Support stakeholders in evaluating project options and implementing enterprise programmes.
  • Influence design decisions and technology policy across the organisation.
  • Work with third-party suppliers, outsourced partners and cross-functional teams to deliver agreed outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, including delivery of large-scale data programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance sector, including the underwriting domain.
  • Experience in data architecture, management information and enterprise integration.
  • Understanding of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence enablement.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, technology strategy and governance.
  • Significant experience delivering complex projects and large-scale programmes.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers, outsourced partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem analysis and solution design capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple architecture programmes and prioritise work effectively.
  • Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to varied audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience building relationships across a business and influencing design and policy decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, strategic planning and critical thinking skills.
