Lead Data Platform Engineer

Fully Remote
£100-125,000 per annum + package

SwitchTT are partnered with well-funded robotics and sustainable logistics scale-up that is transforming shipping operations globally. They use electric, self-driving heavy duty trucks, reducing injury risk and with zero emissions. As they're now generating revenuee product live, they're hiring for a Lead Data Platform Engineer

As a Lead Data Platform Engineer you will:

  • Own the design and implementation of scalable cloud based data architecture
  • Partner with leadership to define long term planning and budgeting
  • Guide experienced engineers in this team scaling through strategic hiring
  • Champion a high performing, empathetic and understanding culture across the business

What You'll need as a Lead Data Platform Engineer:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in data engineering with deep expertise in Python, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, data processing software and cloud services (AWS or GCP).
  • 2 years of experience leading/ managing team members
  • Experience working with ambiguous problems and understanding/ solving customer needs.
  • Experience leveraging AI tooling for team and business success.
  • Bonus Points: Familiarity with IoT, AWS tools, streaming (Kafka/Flink), modern data warehouses (Snowflake/Athena).
