Lead Data Scientist

Central London | Hybrid (4 days office-based)
Up to £95,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits

Are you an experienced Data Scientist who enjoys combining technical expertise with leadership and client engagement?

We're partnering with an innovative, AI-driven technology business that helps large organisations make smarter decisions through advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science. With a growing client base across multiple industries, they are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to play a key role in shaping the future of their Data Science function.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a growing team while remaining hands-on with the delivery of high-impact machine learning and analytics projects. You'll work closely with technical, commercial, and leadership teams to drive measurable outcomes for enterprise customers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a high-performing Data Science team
  • Managing and mentoring a team of Data Scientists while remaining technically involved
  • Delivering projects across forecasting, propensity modelling, customer segmentation, and machine learning
  • Working closely with Product, Engineering, and commercial stakeholders to solve complex business challenges
  • Supporting model deployment, productionisation, and MLOps best practices
  • Presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and clients
  • Helping shape the strategic direction of the Data Science capability as the business continues to grow

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Lead Data Scientist, Principal Data Scientist, Data Science Manager, or Senior Data Scientist with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Expertise in forecasting, segmentation, propensity modelling, and machine learning techniques
  • Experience deploying models into production environments
  • Strong client-facing, consulting, or professional services experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear commercial value
