Lead Data Scientist

London (Hybrid, 4 days per week) | Up to £95,000

If you're currently leading Data Science projects in a consulting or client-facing environment and want the opportunity to build a function rather than simply contribute to one, this role offers a rare chance to shape the direction of Data Science within an AI-driven business. You'll combine team leadership, client engagement, and hands-on machine learning while influencing both product strategy and commercial outcomes.

The Company

They are a specialist AI and analytics business focused on helping enterprise organisations unlock greater value from their customer data. Combining consulting expertise with proprietary technology, they partner closely with clients to solve complex commercial challenges through machine learning, forecasting, customer analytics, and decision intelligence.

Unlike many organisations where Data Science operates separately from business outcomes, their teams work directly with stakeholders to ensure insights lead to measurable action. As the business continues to scale, they are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to take ownership of the function, develop the team, and help define best practice across both client delivery and product development.

The Role

As Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building and developing the Data Science function while remaining closely involved in the most commercially important analytical work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
