Summary
The Lead Developer will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for the NEC Housing and Asset Management ecosystem within a local authority. This position is crucial for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of all system environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environment configurations, overseeing deployments, and integrating data governance and release processes. This role is essential for maintaining robust system performance and ensuring seamless service delivery across development, testing, and production platforms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for NEC system configuration and environment management.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot NEC Housing and Asset Management modules.
- Ensure consistent configuration across Development, Test, Pre-Production, Training, and Production environments.
- Monitor system performance, stability, and availability across all environments.
- Manage technical engagement with NEC suppliers, including patches, upgrades, and system enhancements.
- Lead release planning, deployment scheduling, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate deployment activities across technical and business teams.
- Develop and maintain release management processes and deployment documentation.
- Implement rollback procedures and emergency fixes to minimize service disruption.
- Ensure all releases are thoroughly tested and approved before implementation.

Requirements
- Significant experience configuring and managing NEC Housing and/or Asset Management systems.
- Experience leading technical environments, deployment pipelines, and release management activities.
- Proven experience managing complex IT systems within housing, local government, or public sector environments.
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development in software development, systems management, or enterprise applications.

- This is a 6-month contract position with a local authority.
- Umbrella pay rate is £350 per day.
