Job Purpose

To lead the delivery of the Spurs Football Development programme across a variety of domestic projects (colleges / schools / player development programmes and group visits) as well as collaborating and delivering on international partnerships as required.

Working Hours

Normally five of seven days per week but this may vary when travelling and as per the needs of the business. As a large part of the focus of the role will be supporting the development of local players and coaches, the successful applicant will regularly be expected to work outside of normal school hours and weekends. Reasonable notice will be given.

Travel & Relocation

This role will primarily be based in London with a requirement for coaches to relocate temporarily (up to 6 months) to international markets as required. All international flights and accommodation expenses will be covered via the Club.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching

  • Lead on the delivery of appropriately structured coaching programmes across all Global Football Development Programmes aligned with the departments coaching syllabus and coaching cycle, ensuring players are developed technically, tactically, physically, and socially
  • As required, travel to international markets to deliver on selected partnership programmes, ensuring delivery is tailored to individual partnership requirements and delivered in a professional manner
  • Develop programme specific resources to deliver world class activations in both domestic and international environments
  • Assist with the development and delivery of coach education workshops in both domestic and international environments
  • Support on the identification, analysis and development of players in both domestic and international environments
  • Support wider Club initiatives domestically and abroad such as partnership events, first team tours and fan engagement programmes

Operations

  • In conjunction with central Global Football Development Staff, develop positive working relationships with partners pre, during and post programme activation
  • Produce comprehensive post-programme reports including participant engagement data and highlights, stakeholder feedback and recommendations for future delivery
  • Ensure all programmes are delivered in a safe environment following the Club’s operational, risk management and safeguarding procedures
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including fellow coaches, partnership staff and programme participants
  • Complete all relevant VISA processes and documentation in a timely manner to ensure smooth travel to/from international markets

Safeguarding

  • Actively keep up to date with current and new safeguarding training and practices, including the FA’s Safeguarding Children qualification
  • Assist with all accident, incident, and risk management reporting, ensuring that all concerns are reported on my concern within 24 hours
  • Work alongside the Club Safeguarding Manager’s to champion safeguarding, maintaining practices in-line with the Club’s Safeguarding policies
  • Actively promote and raise awareness of safer working practices within your programmes and modelling best practice

General

  • Act as an ambassador for Global Football Development and the wider Club, representing and promoting the Club in a positive manner. This role may include a significant amount of public speaking and media to promote Global Football Development’s vision and objectives, as well as any key communication from partners
  • Host Global Football Development guests, partners, and participants during any domestic/international visits. This may also include attending Men’s/Women’s First Team fixtures and representing the Club at any event as/when required
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of relevant coaching content for use across various channels
  • Understand and comply with all relevant Club policies
  • Understand and comply with the Club’s health and safety procedures
  • Adhere to the Global Football Development Coaching Code of Conduct
  • Promote, adhere to, and implement the Club’s Equality & Diversity Policy
  • Attend all Global Football Development in-service training events when required
  • Act as Head Coach (or support) International Group Days, Half Term and/or other Global Football Development programmes when based within the UK market
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be expected

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • UEFA B (minimum)
  • Level 2 FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) Qualification
  • FA Safeguarding Children Qualification
  • Relevant Sports Degree (Coaching / Sport Science / Sport Management or equivalent)
  • Experience coaching on community-based mixed gender / mixed-ability youth programmes
  • Experience of managing and developing partnerships/events with FA’s, sports clubs, schools, businesses and the local community
  • International coaching experience, ranging from development to elite level
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
  • Computer literate and able to work under pressure and to deadlines

Desired

  • UEFA A License
  • Experience working in women and girls football
  • Previous experience working on international football projects / partnerships
  • Previous experience working with corporate partners and the media
