Role Overview and Responsibilities

TT Electronics, Bedlington, are hiring for a Lead Digitisation Engineer to lead the strategy, architecture, and implementation of automated data pipelines, IoT integration, smart manufacturing systems, and advanced analytics.

Working directly to drive yield optimisation, predictive maintenance, and lights-out automation across our cleanroom and assembly lines, you’ll bridge the gap between traditional semiconductor/microelectronic assembly and packaging processes and cutting-edge digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing and owning the Industry 4.0 Strategy & Roadmap.
  • Driving the integration of legacy and modern microelectronics equipment.
  • Architecting robust data pipelines to collect, store, and analyse process data.
  • Collaborating with process engineers to implement advanced process control (APC), statistical process control (SPC), and machine learning models.
  • Leading multidisciplinary projects with cross-functional collaboration, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and managing external software vendors, equipment manufacturers, and system integrators.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a smart manufacturing, automation, or data engineering role, ideally within microelectronics assembly, semiconductor packaging, or high-precision manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation or Industry 4.0 implementation projects from conception to deployment.
  • Familiarity with microelectronics assembly equipment and standard factory automation protocols.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with time-series databases and modern data visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of cloud or edge computing architectures.
  • Strong project management capabilities, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
