About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Driller to join our ground investigation team in the Midlands.
Working predominantly on site, you will lead a two-person drilling crew, overseeing a Driller and taking responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of ground investigation works across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a two-person drilling crew
- Operate cable percussion and windowless sampling drilling rigs
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification
- Collect and manage ground investigation samples
- Complete site records and drilling logs
- Liaise with engineers, geologists and clients on site
- Maintain drilling equipment and vehicles
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a Lead Driller within ground investigation
- Experience with cable percussion and windowless sampling techniques
- NVQ Level 2 Land Drilling or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to tow trailers and equipment
- Willingness to travel to sites across the Midlands
Desirable
- Experience with multipurpose drilling rigs such as Comacchio 205 rig
- Street Works accreditation
- Rail or water sector experience
- First Aid qualification
- DBS clearance
