Experienced Lead Rotary Driller Opportunity
Due to an increase in workload, Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Lead Rotary Driller to join our expanding team in England, UK.
We have two roles, one to be based in the South of England and one in the North of England.
Responsibilities
- Competently operate a rotary drilling rig for site investigation boreholes, including the timely submission of borehole logs.
- Understand and carry out work as instructed to comply with the project specification, including in-situ testing, sampling, and installations.
- Maintain good communication with colleagues and clients.
- Work in a tidy and professional manner; be self-sufficient and reliable.
- Inspect, take care of, maintain, and report on the drilling rigs, equipment, and vehicles provided for your use.
- Assist in minor or basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Submit records for SHEQ purposes, such as daily equipment checks.
- Understand and work to regulatory and company standards of health, safety, environment, and quality.
- Comply with all company policies, industry regulations, and specifications.
- Use initiative and experience to overcome challenges on site.
- Maintain a full UK driving license, including a towing license.
- Complete training and assessments as per company requirements.
- Supervise and train drilling assistants.
- Due to the nature of the business, your job description will inevitably change, and you will from time to time be required to undertake other activities to meet the needs of the business as directed by your management team.
- SSL drillers are assigned field tablets to record their borehole logs and site records. Full training will be given on the use of this app.
- Working outside throughout the year in varying locations around the UK (staying away is often required; all expenses paid).

- CSCS and NVQ Level 2 (Lead Driller) required
- BDA accreditation preferred
- Full driving license is essential
- Flexibility to work in varying locations around the UK
Salary and Benefits
- Salary between £36,000 & £45,000 Depending on experience
- 31 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), rising to 36 for extended service.
