Lead Electrical Design Engineer
Droitwich Spa | Permanent | Full-time | 100% On-site
We’re recruiting for an established international engineering and manufacturing business looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to take technical ownership of electrical and EICA design across industrial and process-related projects.
This is a senior hands-on engineering role combining detailed electrical design with technical leadership, project delivery and support through manufacture, installation and commissioning.
What you'll be doing
- Lead electrical and EICA design across multiple projects
- Produce and review load calculations, SLDs, cable schedules, schematics, panel designs and technical specifications
- Ensure designs comply with BS 7671 and relevant electrical and safety standards
- Provide technical guidance and support to electrical design engineers
- Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, project, manufacturing and site teams
- Manage design revisions, drawing control and project documentation
- Review P&IDs, equipment data and project specifications to develop compliant electrical designs
- Support material selection, BOMs, technical submittals and procurement
- Attend client meetings, design reviews and site surveys
- Support FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning and project handover
- Resolve technical issues during design and site delivery
- Support bids and tenders with electrical engineering input

What we're looking for
You’ll need significant electrical design experience within an industrial, manufacturing, utilities, building services or process environment, together with the ability to provide technical leadership across projects.
You should also have:
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, EICA or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical design principles
- Experience producing SLDs, schematics, cable schedules and electrical calculations
- Experience with electrical design software such as Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or equivalent
- Strong understanding of LV distribution, protection, earthing and cable selection
- Previous site installation and commissioning experience
- Experience supporting FAT/SAT and project handover
- Ability to lead, review and guide the work of other engineers
- Strong client-facing, problem-solving and project coordination skills
