Lead Electrical Engineer
I'm currently supporting a specialist offshore engineering organisation in their search for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical engineering and design delivery of a Minimum Facilities Jacket Platform FEED project based in Norwich.
This role will suit a senior electrical engineering professional with a strong background in offshore platforms, electrical systems design, FEED execution, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate Electrical Engineering activities throughout the FEED phase
- Act as the Design Authority for Electrical Systems, providing technical direction across project scopes
- Develop and oversee engineering deliverables including specifications, data sheets, drawings, calculations, and technical reports
- Lead the design of HV/LV distribution, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, earthing, lighting, small power, and electrical control systems
- Coordinate design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant industry, project, and company standards
- Interface with Project Managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors

What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 10 years' experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or a similar industry
- Proven experience in electrical systems, distribution, and MCC design for offshore platforms
- Strong experience delivering engineering project scopes and multidisciplinary projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, calculations, and engineering documentation
- Experience with hazardous-area design, including the application of DSEAR and ATEX
- HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Desirable:
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
- 15+ years' experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or a similar industry
- Strong HV and LV distribution design experience
- Experience with MCC design
- Experience working on or with top-tier COMAH sites
- Experience providing construction, installation, and commissioning support
This is an excellent contract opportunity to play a key role in a significant offshore FEED project, working with a collaborative and experienced multidisciplinary engineering team.
