At Oakhill Secure Training Centre, we care for young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. These vulnerable young people have a wide range of social and emotional complex needs, requiring high standards of social care and service delivery. Our aim is to provide a secure and stable environment for them to develop their life skills and address the behaviors that have led them into custody.
Oakhill Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent reoffending.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised Lead Engineer to join our Facilities Management team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre. They will manage and develop the delivery of a diverse range of Total Facilities Management (TFM) services to meet operational and business requirements, ensuring contractual service level agreements and KPIs are met while operating to the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage resources to meet daily delivery schedules and business requirements within the prescribed budget.
- Liaise with clients offering advice and knowledge regarding service issues.
- Develop and maintain an effective working relationship to understand client needs and enhance the company reputation.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with Sub Contractors over the service and maintenance of assets located across the site, ensuring records are kept up to date and available for inspection/audit.
- Lead and develop skilled teams to meet operational and business needs in a customer-focused manner.
- Support the team in continually reviewing operational procedures to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Develop and support positive team ethos within FM working group.
- Carry out Reactive and Planned Maintenance in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Ensure that all tools or stores items including consumables are accounted for at all times.
- Demonstrate the ability to work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Be flexible in the type of work and assist with any duties incurred by the Facilities Department.
- Ensure that the Facilities Department, areas of work, and stores are kept in a clean, tidy, and safe condition at all times.

Requirements
- A recognised trade qualification and a high-level understanding of building fabric and M&E services.
- Flexibility and adaptability to deal with ever-changing scenarios.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to handle issues of high sensitivity.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced environment.
