Lead Electrical Systems Solutions Consultant – Data Centers (Bracknell)
Location: Bracknell, UK
About the Role
As the Lead Electrical Systems Solutions Consultant for the Data Centers vertical, you will serve as the technical expert responsible for shaping and validating electrical power management system architectures that support mission-critical data center operations across global markets.
This role is design-led and solutions-focused, emphasising electrical power management systems, integration planning, and technical engagement throughout the pre-sales and solution-development lifecycle.
You will collaborate with sales, engineering, offering management, and customer stakeholders to:
- Understand facility requirements
- Develop integrated power system designs
- Guide technical decisions enabling reliable, scalable, and efficient data center environments
Key Responsibilities

Work with customers to design electrical solutions for data centers, including:
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- Power distribution units (PDUs)
- Switchboards
- Remote power panels
- Power quality meters
- Busways

Lead the design and technical architecture of data centre power management systems, ensuring seamless integration into building management systems

Translate customer requirements (uptime, resiliency, operational efficiency) into scalable, compliant, and well-documented solution designs with defined integration pathways and functional impacts

Engage with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise operators, as well as consultants and project partners, to understand:
- Data centre facility types
- Operational workflows
- Regional design requirements

Support pre-sales engagements by:
- Providing technical leadership
- Presenting solution options
- Validating system feasibility (no individual sales quota)

Review system specifications, design drawings, and integration requirements for major projects

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Strategic Sales, Offering Management, Solutions Consulting, Product Management, and Engineering) to:
- Align system architecture with Honeywell’s portfolio
- Meet data centre-segment goals

Recommend optimal system designs based on:
- Mission-critical operational priorities (availability, redundancy, electrical control, energy performance)
- Regional requirements across global markets

Participate in:
- Architecture reviews
- Customer presentations
- Industry discussions to highlight technical value and system differentiation for data centre environments

Maintain current knowledge of:
- Data centre facility types
- Power and monitoring needs
- Building systems integration practices

Travel as required to support:
- Major customer engagements
- Design reviews
- Technical workshops (domestic and international)
Must-Have Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in electrical distribution equipment
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Translate electrical and operational requirements into:
- System designs
- Architectural decisions
- Integration plans
- Translate electrical and operational requirements into:
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions in:
- Pre-sales
- Solution design
- Consulting (or similar roles)
- Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to:
- Articulate complex system concepts to:
- Engineering stakeholders
- Non-technical stakeholders

Preferred (We Value)
- Participation in data centre or critical-facility engineering associations (e.g., AFCOM)
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Engineering
- Computer science
- Building systems
- Related technical discipline
- Experience in designing or integrating electrical power management systems for:
- Data centres
- Mission-critical environments
- Understanding of:
- Data centre operational workflows
- Power management needs
- Technical requirements influencing facility design and operation
- Strong collaboration skills across:
- Global, multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to:
- Assess current-state system architecture
- Recommend enhancements aligned with customer and market needs
- Innovative mindset, with the ability to adapt solutions across:
- Diverse global data centre environments
