Job title: Lead Technician

Job Type: 6 month contract with possible extension

Location: Derby

Pay rate: £26.92 per hour PAYE or £35.98 per hour Umbrella

IR35: Inside

Working Hours: 4 on / 4 off (days & nights), overtime available

Are you an experienced Electrician Technician ready to step into a lead role with one of the UK's most advanced train fleets?

We are seeking a Technician to join a busy maintenance depot in Derby, supporting the servicing, fault finding, repair, and reliability improvement of modern rolling stock. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled electrical technician looking for a long-term contract with strong earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on rolling stock assets.
  • Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Identify and rectify electrical defects.
  • Produce technical scopes of work and support reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical support during service failures and depot operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using SAP and other maintenance systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience working in maintenance, overhaul, modification or production environments
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Experience of working a 24/7 shift roster
  • Excellent safety awareness within a regulated engineering environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Engineering Backgrounds Encouraged to Apply
