At Leonardo, we have an opportunity for a Lead EMC Engineer. Is leading a team of EMC Engineers and a UKAS accredited test facility the next step in your career? Developing and qualifying next generation Radar, Laser and Infrared Countermeasures.
The Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business is one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of advanced sensor and countermeasure systems. You will lead a team supporting this development and play a lead role in planning/execution of future facility capability.
What You Will Do
- A team responsible for early development lifecycle pre compliance through to formal product qualification EMC test.
- EMC engineering activities aligned to defence and aviation standards such as MIL-STD-461, DO-160 and EFA EMC Specification.
- EMC test that covers the core areas of Radiated/Conducted Emissions and Susceptibility, Lightning, ESD, NEMP and Voltage Spike.
- Support and consultation to internal and external customers on EMC.
- Continuous improvement within the current EMC Facility.
- Automation of current work practices and methods that offer opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Definition of EMC Facility requirements, planning and delivery to provide capability in support of future business development programmes.
What You’ll Bring
It would be ideal if you had experience of:
- EMC requirement definition and flow down.
- EMC design practices.
- EMC simulation, modelling and analysis.
- Technical support to an EMC Test Team.
- Test plan and test procedure generation and peer review.
- Test report peer review.
- Supporting test readiness of upcoming customers via Test Readiness Reviews.
- EMC point of contact for key customers.
- Support of product certification and Declaration of Design and Performance review.
- Providing guidance and technical expertise on EMC Facility capital spend to ensure capability is maintained and improved as required.
- Facility audits, including internal quality and technical audits, external AS9100D and ISO17025 aligned to continued UKAS accreditation.
- Providing technical expertise on EMC Facility requirements, with a view to establishing and delivering an EMC Test capability into the future.
- Guiding, mentoring and training more junior staff.
