Job Title: Lead Engineer (Engineering Team Leader)

Location: Glasgow

Shift: The Pitman rotating shift pattern not 4on/4off

So what’s it all about

As our next Lead Engineer (Engineering Team Leader), you will play a key role in providing both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise within our Glasgow bakery.

We are specifically looking for an electrically qualified engineer with strong automation and controls experience who can act as a technical expert on shift. You will need to be confident fault-finding on complex electrical and automated equipment, supporting your engineering team through technical issues and driving effective root-cause solutions to improve equipment reliability.

This is a hands-on leadership role, so alongside leading and developing the engineering team, you will be expected to provide technical support during breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvement activities.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will ensure safe working practices while supporting production through effective preventative maintenance, planned engineering works and rapid response to breakdowns. Strong communication, prioritisation and escalation skills will be essential to ensuring resources are effectively deployed and downtime is minimised.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
