Role description
At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Lead Engineer - Carbon Components to be based at our customer’s site in Warwick.
THE ROLE
Engineer will be responsible for the development, industrialisation, and delivery of carbon fibre composite components for automotive applications. The role requires a strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes, including Autoclave, Press Moulding and Resin Transfer Moulding across both high-volume and low-volume production environments. The successful candidate will lead technical activities from concept development through to production implementation, working closely with customers, suppliers, CAE engineers, design teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to deliver high-quality composite solutions that meet performance, aesthetic, quality, and cost requirements. Work closely with design teams to develop manufacturable composite solutions. Review CAD models and provide Design for Manufacture (DFM) recommendations. Support the creation and review of:
- Technical specifications
- Manufacturing requirements
Ensure engineering solutions meet performance, durability, weight, and cost targets.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Project Ownership & Delivery
- Act as the engineering lead for carbon fibre component programmes from concept development through to production launch.
- Own project deliverables, engineering maturity, programme timing, risks, and technical issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring engineering activities are delivered to agreed milestones.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of customer requirements.
- Escalate technical, commercial, and programme risks where appropriate and drive timely resolution.

Customer Technical Leadership
- Lead technical reviews, design presentations, programme updates and gateway reviews.
- Present engineering concepts, manufacturing strategies, weight-saving opportunities and technical recommendations.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure technical commitments are achieved.
- Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and technical competence.
- Successfully lead customer reviews and presentations.
- Achieve positive customer feedback and confidence in engineering delivery.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Experience supporting both low-volume premium vehicle programmes and high-volume automotive production environments.
- Proven track record of leading engineering work packages or complete programmes, with accountability for:
- Technical delivery
- Programme timing
- Cost targets
- Manufacturing feasibility
- Risk management
- Experience managing and developing relationships with Tier 1 suppliers, material suppliers, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Experience in the design, development, and industrialisation of carbon fibre composite components within the automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience delivering carbon fibre components from concept through to production launch, including prototype, pre-production, and serial production phases.
- Demonstrable experience working with composite manufacturing processes including:
- Autoclave manufacturing
- Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM)
- Press Moulding (PSM)
- Prepreg composite technologies
- Structural adhesive bonding processes.
