Behind every product launch, system improvement and customer experience is a cloud platform that enables our engineering teams to build, test, deploy and operate software safely, securely and at scale.

As a Lead Engineer within our developer experience team, you'll lead a small, highly skilled team of three engineers focused on improving the tools, platforms and developer experiences that help our technology teams move faster and deliver with confidence. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical expertise, coaching and continuous improvement to shape the future of software delivery at NewDay.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You'll lead and develop a team of engineers, creating a collaborative environment that supports learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • You'll design, build and enhance developer tooling that improves the experience of engineering teams across NewDay.
  • You'll help shape platform engineering standards, automation approaches and software delivery practices.
  • You'll collaborate with engineering teams to remove obstacles and enable faster, safer and more reliable software delivery.
  • You'll provide technical guidance and support for complex platform and developer experience challenges.

We're Looking For These Essential Skills

  • Strong experience building applications, tools or platforms using .Net TypeScript, Node.js and modern JavaScript technologies.
  • Ability to develop developer-focused tooling that improves productivity, software quality and engineering efficiency.
  • Passion for creating exceptional developer experiences through automation, self-service capabilities and intuitive tooling.
  • Knowledge of software testing practices and approaches that support reliable, well-engineered solutions.
  • Understanding of public cloud platforms, continuous integration, continuous deployment and modern Agile ways of working.

It's a Plus If You Also Have These Skills

  • Experience working with Azure cloud platform services.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud platform services.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code approaches using tools such as Pulumi.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of other engineers.
  • Understanding of platform engineering, developer enablement or cloud-native engineering practices.
