Partner with the best

As a Lead Engineer, Mechanical, Product Design and Engineering, you will join the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Department based in Ashby, United Kingdom. Working within a global engineering team across the UK, the Netherlands, India, and the Czech Republic, you will support development, new-build, and services projects through advanced engineering analysis, including structural FEA and rotor dynamics calculations.

  • Supporting the design and development of large electric motors and generators through mechanical analyses, including structural FEA and rotor dynamics calculations.
  • Supporting new product development activities aligned with business growth strategies.
  • Coordinating engineering activities with teams located in the UK, the Netherlands, India, and the Czech Republic.
  • Developing technical order specifications, including quality and inspection requirements for suppliers and incoming goods.
  • Providing technical support to Purchasing teams, including supplier qualification activities.
  • Ensuring designs and engineering outputs comply with technical, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Driving technical and process improvements through the application of modern engineering and design methodologies.
  • Developing and promoting best practices across Engineering Design within Generator Value Streams.
  • Supervising testing activities conducted at the test facility in the Czech Republic.
  • Troubleshooting operational issues on installed machines and supporting customers globally.
  • Supporting Sales teams through the development of technical concepts and customer solutions.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have proven experience using simulation and analysis tools such as MATLAB and ANSYS.
  • Demonstrate experience in the design and analysis of rotating equipment.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Be fluent in English.
