The Role
As Lead Engineer, you will:
- Act as the technical lead for the MDC project, coordinating suppliers, stakeholders, and specialist engineering teams.
- Own and maintain the MDC architecture, requirements baseline, and design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead requirements management and demonstrate compliance through delivery, verification, and acceptance.
- Manage technical risks, assumptions, opportunities, and engineering trade studies.
- Lead delivery of the MDC compound, including associated civils works such as hardstanding, security fencing, utilities, and concrete foundations.
- Define and manage interfaces between the MDC, HPC systems, site infrastructure, utilities, and external suppliers.
- Ensure integration of the MDC with the wider West Burton site and STEP programme.
- Define work packages and technical scope for civil and infrastructure delivery.
- Lead verification, validation, testing, and technical acceptance activities to ensure fitness for purpose.
- Support engineering governance, lifecycle reviews, assurance activities, and project stage gates.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, quality, and engineering standards.

About You
Essential
- Degree-qualified Engineer.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong systems engineering capability.
- Proven experience integrating civil, mechanical, electrical, and digital systems.
- Experience managing complex technical interfaces and requirements.
- Knowledge of structured engineering lifecycles, governance, and assurance frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
