Lead Developer (Java / Spring Boot)
We are a long-term partner to a leading UK financial platform, currently supporting them with a key hire for their engineering leadership team as they gear up for several new product developments.
Following an internal relocation, we are seeking a Lead Developer to step into a technical leadership role, guiding and mentoring a team of talented Senior Developers.
UK - Fully Remote UK Right to Work required (no visa sponsorship available).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing technical leadership and architectural direction across core Java/Spring Boot platforms.
- Line managing and mentoring a team of Senior Engineers.
- Working closely with engineering leadership to drive long-term technical strategy and product roadmaps.
- Championing clean code, best practices, and a collaborative, low-ego engineering culture.

What We’re Looking For:
- Strong background in Java & Spring Boot.
- FE experience: this is a BE-leaning role but FE experience would be beneficial when mentoring FS engineers and providing further technical guidance.
- Cloud Experience.
- Prior experience in technical leadership, mentoring, or line management.
- Excellent communication skills and a personable, supportive leadership style.
