Lead Exam Invigilator

Location: London and surrounding areas

Work: Ad-hoc and seasonal temporary work during examination periods

Pay: Weekly pay, subject to experience


We are looking for experienced and reliable Lead Exam Invigilators to support schools, colleges and examination centres across London and the surrounding areas during busy examination periods.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Exam Invigilators looking to take on greater responsibility, lead a team and play a key role in ensuring examinations run smoothly.

The Role

Responsibilities

As a Lead Exam Invigilator, you will be responsible for ensuring examination sessions run smoothly and in line with regulations. You will:

  • Lead and coordinate a team of invigilators.
  • Liaise directly with the Exams Officer throughout the examination session.
  • Brief and allocate invigilators to examination rooms.
  • Ensure rooms are correctly prepared before candidates enter.
  • Monitor the team and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Deal calmly and appropriately with any issues that arise.
  • Oversee the secure collection and handling of examination materials.

What You’ll Need

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one – the cost is £59.50
  • Professional references covering your last two years of employment history.
  • Previous experience working as an Exam Invigilator.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Confidence leading a team and managing examination sessions.
  • Reliability and flexibility during busy examination periods.
  • A professional and calm approach when dealing with candidates, invigilators and Exams Officers.
