Salary, Benefits and Hours

GBP45,000:GBP48,500 per annum, depending on experience
Overtime paid at 1.5x rate and door:to:door travel paid
Company van, mobile phone, PPE and specialist tools provided
28 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing with service up to 33 days
Full-time, permanent role with occasional overnight stays

Role Overview

  • Provide technical support to field engineers, assisting with complex fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Install, commission, service and repair recycling and waste machinery at customer sites
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults efficiently and safely
  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, technical documentation and engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum five years experience working on recycling, waste or similar industrial machinery
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fault-finding capabilities
  • Welding experience is essential, with a practical hands-on approach
  • Previous experience supporting, mentoring or coaching engineers is advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide

Desirable Experience

  • Fabrication experience
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Experience with balers, compactors or related equipment
  • Development of engineering procedures or technical documentation
  • Continuous improvement or process development experience

Work Location

  • Home-based field service position
  • Covering customer sites nationwide
  • Occasional travel to company facilities for meetings and training
  • Mixture of installations, planned maintenance and breakdown work
  • Regular travel as part of day-to-day responsibilities
