Lead Firmware Engineer – Wireless | Hybrid | Cambridge
We’re looking to hire an experienced technical leader to drive the development of our next generation of connected devices with highly practical, real-life deployments.
Here, you’ll be the technical lead defining technology direction, guiding key architectural decisions, and playing a central role in a multidisciplinary team.
About the role:
- Own the technical architecture of wireless devices across electronics, embedded software, and system integration
- Translate customer and product requirements into practical engineering solutions, from concept and development through validation, launch and production
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and external partners, ensuring progress against technical milestones, quality, cost and timelines
- Support manufacturing scale-up, field issue resolution and continuous product improvement

Requirements:
Personal:
- Strong systems thinker with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Confident technical leader able to influence multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- Commercially minded, balancing innovation, quality, reliability, manufacturability, cost and delivery
Technical:
- 8+ years' experience developing connected embedded products
- Strong hands-on understanding of electronics, mechanics, embedded systems and system integration
- Proven experience taking products from concept through validation and into production
- Experience with wireless/IoT-enabled products and technical leadership across engineering disciplines

- Experience with LoRaWAN, BLE, GNSS, cellular or similar wireless technologies
