Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Dublin, Belfast, Perth, Glasgow or Reading

Salary: £59,800 - £89,800 / €76,100 - €114,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The role

As Lead FP&A, Customer Asset Portfolio, you'll partner with leaders across SSE Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) to deliver financial insight that drives informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

You'll lead planning, forecasting, performance reporting and analysis for the Customer Assets business, translating complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights. Working closely with Finance, Business Partnering and operational teams, you'll help shape strategy, identify opportunities and support business performance.

You'll also coach and develop the Financial Planning Analyst, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture while championing best practice and continuous improvement.

As a key member of the FP&A team, you'll contribute to the evolution of ECS's planning and reporting capability, helping to create more consistent, scalable and insight-led ways of working.

You will

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis for the Customer Assets portfolio, providing insight that supports strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Partner with senior leaders and finance colleagues to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations and performance narratives.
  • Oversee annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range plans, ensuring assumptions, risks and opportunities are robust, well understood and aligned to business objectives.
  • Deliver insightful reporting and analysis, connecting operational performance to financial outcomes and providing early visibility of emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Coach and develop the Financial Planning Analyst, fostering a collaborative, high-performing and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Champion continuous improvement across FP&A, driving more efficient, scalable and insight-led planning, reporting and governance processes while building strong stakeholder relationships across ECS.

You have

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or business performance analysis.
  • Strong track record of leading budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes within a complex business environment.
  • Skilled at turning financial and operational data into clear insights, compelling performance stories and actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling capabilities, with experience assessing scenarios, risks, opportunities and key business drivers.
  • Confident relationship builder, able to influence, collaborate with and positively challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience developing others, managing competing priorities and driving continuous improvement across reporting, planning and finance processes.
