Lead / Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
We're working with a premium digital agency that specialises in the projects most agencies wouldn't.
They're looking for a Lead / Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys solving genuinely complex engineering problems, taking ownership of technical solutions and helping shape how a team builds and delivers.
This isn't a role centred around building Shopify stores. Shopify is part of the environment, but the real focus is full-stack engineering, architecture, infrastructure and technical leadership.
You'll work on projects involving complex integrations, custom systems, data, APIs and highly personalised customer journeys, helping architect solutions that go well beyond what an off-the-shelf platform can offer.
You'll be involved in:
- Taking technical ownership of projects from initial requirements through to delivery
- Architecting and building scalable, maintainable full-stack solutions
- Making key technical and architectural decisions
- Working across application, backend and infrastructure layers
- Turning complex requirements into clear technical approaches
- Helping shape engineering standards, processes and best practices
- Working closely with PM, Design and Data teams
- Speaking directly with clients, understanding their challenges and explaining technical solutions clearly
- Using AI effectively within your development workflow and helping identify where emerging technologies can improve how the team builds and delivers
- Supporting and mentoring other engineers, helping raise the technical capability of the wider team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Shopify experience would be useful, but it isn't the defining part of the role. Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or enterprise CMS platforms would also be valuable.
The team is based in Leeds and works flexibly. There is an expectation that you'll spend around one day a week in the Leeds office, with the rest of the role worked flexibly.
If you're a senior engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems, getting involved in architecture and infrastructure, working directly with clients and having a genuine influence on how a team builds software, this could be an interesting one.
