Lead Full Stack Engineer

Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
Location: Manchester (Hybrid – Travel to client sites across the UK as required)

The Opportunity

A leading global technology consultancy is looking to hire experienced Lead Software Engineers to join its growing Software & Platform Engineering practice. Working with clients ranging from fast-growing scale-ups to some of the world's largest enterprise organisations, you'll help design, build and deliver modern cloud-native applications used by millions of users.

This is an opportunity to work across a variety of industries while combining hands-on software engineering with technical leadership. You'll play a key role in shaping engineering best practices, mentoring developers, and delivering high-quality software solutions using modern technologies and cloud platforms.

The Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of modern software solutions while remaining hands-on throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help clients build scalable, secure and high-performing digital products while promoting engineering excellence and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deliver modern software applications across frontend, backend or full-stack environments.
  • Lead engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentoring and code reviews.
  • Develop cloud-native applications using modern engineering practices.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code to support scalable cloud deployments.
  • Ensure applications meet high standards for security, performance, accessibility and maintainability.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, product owners and client stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to engineering communities, technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Software security, application performance and scalability
