Lead Full Stack Engineer | Incubator for AI (i.AI)
Want to build AI products that improve public services used by millions?
At i.AI, we build AI products inside the UK Government across health, education, planning and Parliament. Small teams. Startup pace. National-scale impact.
We're looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer who can own technical direction, shape product strategy alongside product managers, mentor and grow engineers, and stay close enough to the code to tackle the toughest challenges themselves.
You'll work in a high-autonomy environment where teams move quickly, make decisions close to the problem, and focus on delivering real outcomes for users. Our engineers work across the full stack, from user-facing products and APIs to infrastructure, data layers and AI integrations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
