Lead Graphic Designer
The Lead Graphic Designer will direct visual design execution across digital storefronts, brand campaigns, and commercial packaging. This role is responsible for translating commercial vision into high-impact creative, establishing scalable Figma design systems, preparing technical print collateral, and embedding generative AI workflows into daily production.
What You'll Do
Design Systems, Digital & Packaging Governance
- Design Systems & Token Architecture: Architect, scale, and govern centralised Figma component libraries, responsive grids, and design tokens across digital storefronts, marketing touchpoints, and print collateral.
- Multi-Channel Campaign Translation: Take overarching campaign briefs and translate them into complete visual suites across e-commerce, digital performance marketing, retail packaging, and point-of-sale.
- Packaging & Print Pre-Press Standards: Oversee the technical preparation of physical packaging and print deliverables, establishing accurate cutter guides, material specifications, and pre-press colour profiling (CMYK and Pantone) ready for production and supplier review.
- Conversion-Driven Layouts: Direct the visual hierarchy and digital asset standards for high-converting category landing pages and digital touchpoints, balancing aesthetic impact with user journeys, accessibility, and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
People Leadership & Collaboration
- Personable & Relationship-Focused: Be approachable, personable, and confident in building strong working relationships across the design team and wider business, creating trust and encouraging open communication.
- Team Leadership & Support: Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and creative direction to designers, helping remove blockers and maintain a positive, collaborative working environment.
- Coaching & Development: Support the growth of team members through regular feedback, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and opportunities to build skills and confidence.
- Collaborative Leadership: Lead with empathy, accountability, and good judgement, adapting your approach to different personalities while fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing team culture.

Workflow Automation & Operations
- Generative AI & Modern Workflows: Embed generative AI tools, Claude Design, node workflows like ComfyUI, and other generative AI workflows into daily design processes to eliminate repetitive production tasks, accelerate visual exploration, and scale asset output.
- Design Operations & Capacity Management: Oversee sprint allocation, intake prioritisation, and resource management to ensure cross-departmental deliverables arrive on time without compromising visual quality.
What You'll Bring
- Design Leadership: Demonstrated track record leading visual projects, mentoring designers, or driving design direction within an e-commerce brand, commercial design team, or creative agency.
- Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing lead-calibre visual execution across scalable digital design systems, multi-channel commercial campaigns, and commercial packaging.
- Generative AI Experience: Practical experience working with generative AI tools, Claude Design, node workflows like ComfyUI, and other generative AI workflows to streamline production and accelerate creative turnaround.
- Advanced Systems & Tooling: Mastery of Figma (auto-layout, component variants, design tokens) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Technical Pre-Press Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of commercial packaging artworking, cutter guides, print manufacturing tolerances, and pre-flight quality checks.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of user experience principles, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), and digital marketing performance, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly to commercial stakeholders.
