3t is currently looking to recruit a Lead Instructor on a permanent contract in Grimsby, England.

This role is contracted at 40 hours per week. The standard working pattern will be 7.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.

The Opportunity

3t Training Services are seeking to appoint a Lead Instructor to be located at Orsted’s East Coast Hub facility. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety critical training, and a good understanding of GWO products. East Coast Hub is strategically located with direct links to Hornsea offshore wind farms and has a dedicated training facility to service the local and wider sector needs. This role offers the benefit of designing and delivering training at Orsted’s state of the art facility to enhance the standards of safety training for current and future technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver courses as required in line with 3t and accrediting body requirements, primarily GWO
  • To design and develop a Maintenance of Skills package collaboratively with Orsted
  • To support customers during course delivery as appropriate
  • To obtain positive feedback following course completion in line with KPIs set within personal development plan
  • To participate in standardisation and continuing professional development as required
  • To locally manage equipment and resources ensuring fitness for purpose, statutory inspections, ordering and replacing where necessary
  • To provide support to trainee and existing Instructor/Assessors as appropriate
  • To support growth through technical input to new courses, training standards, customer meetings and the continual improvement of existing courses.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Apply 3t and Orsted HSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure that all 3t quality and operational procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain and embrace ownership of departmental policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Level 3 award in teaching (or higher)
  • Level 3 award in assessing (or higher)
  • GWO BST (Offshore) (in-date preferable)
  • GWO EFA (in-date preferable)
  • GWO ART (in-date preferable)

Person Criteria

  • Strong background in safety critical training including working and rescue at height, fire awareness, first aid and manual handling
  • Ability to collaborate with industry professionals to develop sector leading safety critical training
  • Provide technical coaching / professional guidance, and assist in the development of others.
  • Demonstrate a calm and systematic approach
  • Convey information fluently, interpreting and clarifying details and explaining rationale
  • Willingness to utilise skillset in other areas to upskill and deliver training in line with business needs
  • Select and use the best method of communication to ensure understanding
  • Advise and guide others
  • Use a wide range and depth of technical or specialised knowledge, providing technical leadership and expert advice to others
  • Work to develop team spirit and cooperation
  • Provide meaningful feedback on a regular, ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks
