As a Lead Integration and Cloud Solution Architect, you'll lead the design of major cross-domain solutions, define reusable integration and cloud patterns, and guide teams towards secure, resilient and scalable outcomes. You'll make a visible impact, influence architecture strategy and help shape what comes next.

How you'll make an impact
You'll...
- Lead the design of major, cross-domain end-to-end solutions
- Shape high-level architecture with architects, product owners, technical leads and business analysts
- Define and promote reusable API, integration and cloud patterns
- Ensure designs meet functional, non-functional, regulatory and security requirements
- Identify and escalate proposed deviations from target architecture
- Coach, mentor and share knowledge across architecture and engineering teams

Technology & Change is a strategic priority for Vanquis. This role sits at the heart of our transformation, creating a sustainable integration architecture, enabling cloud change and reducing complexity across the technology estate. Your work will support faster delivery, stronger compliance and better customer and colleague experiences.
You'll work closely with enterprise and domain architects, product owners, technical leads, business analysts, engineering teams, platform specialists and operational teams, seeing how your work contributes to meaningful outcomes.

Technology stack
- Cloud Platforms: MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Microsoft Azure, and AWS
- APIs and Architectures: REST, SOAP, GraphQL, Event-driven architecture, Containers, and Kubernetes concepts
- Engineering & Automation: API-led connectivity and reusable integration patterns, Hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architecture, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, Mutual TLS, Monitoring, observability, operational support models, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Essential experience
- Significant experience as a Solution Architect, Integration Architect, or Cloud Architect in enterprise-scale environments.
- A proven track record of delivering large-scale integration and complex end-to-end business and technology solutions.
- Deep expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong Microsoft Azure and AWS architecture experience across hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of API security, cloud networking, identity, resilience, observability, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Confident stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and mentoring skills, with experience working within architecture governance frameworks.
Useful, but not essential
- TOGAF, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- Experience in banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, MuleSoft Composer, Salesforce integrations, or Snowflake.
