About the Company

Our client is an established professional membership and qualifications organisation seeking an experienced Lead IT Architect to shape its enterprise technology landscape and provide architectural leadership across major transformation initiatives.

About the Role

This senior role combines enterprise architecture leadership with hands-on solution architecture. You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, delivery teams and technology specialists to ensure applications, data, integrations, security and infrastructure are aligned with business strategy and a coherent, scalable and sustainable target architecture. The role offers significant scope to influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, reduce complexity, manage architectural risk and support the development of a modern, secure and effective technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture principles, standards and the technology roadmap.
  • Lead solution architecture for complex business and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Design end-to-end solutions spanning applications, data, integrations, security and infrastructure.
  • Ensure technology and data solutions align with an appropriate, scalable and sustainable target architecture.
  • Provide architectural assurance, governance and design approval across projects and programmes.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to assess options, risks and strategic trade-offs.
  • Identify opportunities to modernise, simplify and optimise the technology estate.
  • Work closely with delivery teams, infrastructure specialists, platform owners, security professionals and data colleagues.
  • Provide architectural oversight across programmes and projects to ensure solutions meet strategic and operational requirements.
  • Mentor technical teams and promote architectural best practice across the organisation.

Qualifications

Significant experience in Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture roles.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in cloud-based architectures, modern platforms and integration technologies.
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions across applications, data, security and infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering architecture within large-scale digital transformation or platform modernisation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of architecture governance, standards and design assurance practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with practical delivery requirements.
  • Professional architecture expertise.

Preferred Skills

  • Relevant professional certifications such as TOGAF, Microsoft Azure, AWS, security or integration certifications.

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: £85,000–£90,000 per annum, based on experience.
