Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Lead IT Project Manager to lead and develop a team of Project Managers while overseeing the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of IT and business transformation projects.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll be responsible for resource planning, portfolio oversight, project governance, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers.
  • Manage project management resource planning, capacity, and allocation across multiple initiatives.
  • Provide oversight of IT projects and programmes, ensuring effective governance and delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, risks, budgets, dependencies, and key milestones.
  • Support and coach Project Managers in resolving delivery challenges.
  • Produce portfolio reporting for senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices, standards, and methodologies.
  • Manage supplier and third-party relationships where required.
  • Influence and support business and technology transformation at a senior level.
  • Ensure alignment with PMO standards, processes, and governance.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience delivering complex IT projects, programmes, or portfolios.
  • Proven experience leading and developing Project Managers.
  • Strong resource planning and capacity management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of project governance, risk management, and delivery assurance.
  • Experience working across infrastructure, applications, cloud, cybersecurity, data, or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at Director and Executive level.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
