Job Title

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior / Lead Java Microservices Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems. In this role, you will play a key part in driving our microservices architecture forward using modern Java and Spring frameworks. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, DevOps, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Engineering: Architect, code, and deploy resilient Java microservices aligned with product roadmap and business needs.
  • Code Quality & Standards: Lead code reviews, champion continuous integration (CI/CD) practices, and enforce clean coding and security standards across the team.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor system responsiveness, optimize database queries, and continuously refine microservice performance and reliability.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and lead sprint execution within an Agile delivery framework.
  • DevOps & Cloud Integration: Partner with DevOps teams to streamline automated deployments, containerization, and production monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Identify bottlenecks, debug complex distributed system issues, and provide operational support across non-prod and prod environments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
