About the Project
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java) to take on the role of technical leader for a team of 5-7 developers. The project is delivered within an enterprise environment, leveraging modern cloud-native architecture and engineering practices that support high-quality, highly available solutions. Hybrid working model: 40% of working time spent onsite at the client's office in Scotland.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining the team's technical direction, supporting developers' growth, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to deliver scalable business solutions.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for a team of 5-7 developers.
- Make architectural and technology-related decisions.
- Take ownership of solution quality and software engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on planning and delivering initiatives.
- Mentor, support, and develop team members.
- Promote engineering best practices, including Code Reviews, Pair Programming, TDD, BDD, and CI/CD.
- Support the development of secure and highly available cloud-based systems.
Your Tasks
- You have at least 7 years of commercial software development experience.
- You have worked as a Lead Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Engineering Lead.
- You have experience leading teams working in Agile environments.
- You have designed and delivered highly available enterprise solutions.
- You have experience mentoring and developing software engineers.
- You communicate fluently in both Polish and English (minimum B2 level).

What We Offer
- Hybrid working model: 40% of working time spent onsite at the client's office in Scotland, with the onsite schedule agreed jointly with the client. Onsite work may be organized either on a regular basis or through consolidated business trips, provided that the average onsite commitment remains at around 40% of total working time. The remaining time can be worked remotely from Poland, the United Kingdom (UK), or another EU country.
