A unique opportunity for a senior lending lawyer to join a high-growth Challenger Bank on an initial 6–9 month interim contract.

This is a genuinely hands-on role combining secured lending expertise with leadership of a small legal team, at an important point in the bank’s growth with a major focus will be supporting the development and launch of an in-app secured lending proposition.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the legal workstream for new secured lending propositions
  • Advising on the Consumer Credit Act, RAO exemptions, CONC and MCOB
  • Drafting and negotiating facility, security and pledge documentation
  • Advising on security over financial assets, priority, subordination and restructuring
  • Supporting forward-flow funding arrangements and securitisation work
  • Working closely with Product, Risk, Compliance and senior stakeholders
  • Managing and providing day-to-day leadership to a small legal team

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Strong UK consumer credit and secured lending experience gained within a bank or lender
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK lending regulatory framework
  • Experience with security documentation over financial assets
  • The confidence to operate as a senior, hands-on lawyer
