Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of lower-level production associates and takes responsibility for achieving the targets within their own area(s) and supports wider production as required.
  • Monitors production to ensure that efficiency and quality standards are met. Takes immediate appropriate action to rectify any shortfalls in production or quality. Seeks supervisory support as required.
  • Holds daily Team meetings.
  • Attends end of shift meetings as required and provides reports/data on daily performance achievements against targets.
  • Has the ability to perform product assembly operations on complex components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies in more than one area. Can suggest improvements to current methods and manage the implementation and monitoring of their effectiveness.
  • Is actively involved in new model introductions.
  • Instructs associates on correct operation and supports activities to remove waste from the process.
  • Can provide support and training to staff and newer Team Leaders.
  • Recognized as a role model within the business.
  • Contributes to planned training schedule to cross train staff within own area of responsibility and understands and supports the need for the cross training of own staff in other areas.
  • Manages all aspects of attendance appropriately, maintains absence reports accurately and suggests appropriate action to the supervisor.
  • Has a good working knowledge of company processes and procedures.
  • Carries out return to work interviews and recommends appropriate actions to the supervisor.
  • Monitors the work area to ensure that all safety standards are upheld, reports issues in a timely manner and suggests improvements to supervisor.
  • Reports any issues that may affect production to the supervisor in a timely manner, and suggests solutions to resolve the issue.
  • Supports the supervisor in the team appraisal activity, which may include providing face to face feedback at meetings.
  • Carry out any reasonable request by the management team.
  • Flexible and supportive of the business in regards to working hours, location, patterns and tasks as required, to deliver to customer expectations, actively supports change.
  • Demonstrates continuous personal development and its application in regards to Leadership skills.
