Lead MarTech Engineer - £92,000
Location: London
Working Hours: 3 days per week in the office
We're partnering with a well-established, digitally led business that's rebuilding its marketing technology from the ground up. They're looking for a hands-on technical lead to take ownership of the martech stack, improve data quality and embed AI across marketing operations.
The role is highly technical, suited to someone with strong data engineering skills and hands-on experience across CRM platforms, data integration and automation.
What You'll Do
- Lead a major platform migration from a legacy marketing cloud to a modern customer engagement platform, owning the plan, cutover and final sign-off
- Validate data, journeys and event logic between platforms at query level, and resolve issues directly
- Design a unified marketing data layer, covering schema, identity resolution and how conflicting data is reconciled
- Spec and manage integrations across a broad martech stack, working with data and architecture teams on the existing warehouse setup
- Build monitoring to ensure data accuracy and flag issues early
- Write SQL and Python for QA, validation and journey debugging
- Use AI tools and agents to automate repetitive work such as audits, QA checks and documentation

- Strong SQL and hands-on experience in BigQuery or a similar warehouse
- Working Python (or similar) for scripting, automation and pipeline debugging
- Practical experience building with AI or LLM tools
- Ownership of at least one platform migration or large-scale data integration
- Confidence making data architecture decisions, including schema design and identity stitching
- Experience with enterprise CRM platforms such as Braze or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- The ability to turn broad goals into clear technical plans and communicate them to non-technical teams
- GCP experience and a background in a regulated industry are a plus
