The Opportunity
We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of specialist vehicle conversion systems, leading projects from initial concept to delivery.
As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Design Team while providing technical expertise across a variety of new product development projects.
Work just 4 days per week! Our flexible shift pattern allows you to complete your 37.5 hour week between Monday and Thursday, with flexible start and finish times between 7am-6pm.
The salary for this position is up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design and development of mechanical aspects of new and existing vehicle conversion systems (full lifecycle) from concept through to production and delivery.
- Support the Mechanical Engineering Design Team.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, technical specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- To support the Engineering Manager in answering technical enquiries from the Sales and Marketing teams, for non-standard special requests through the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process.

About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proven experience delivering products from concept through to production.
- A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
